Akiva Health Systems: Bringing doctors and patients together, we are filling the gap between EMR and ePHR systems.
Akiva Health Systems is an early stage Healthcare IT startup with well-defined idea/need, market, and users. Our goal is to bridge the gap between EMR and failed ePHR systems with new user/revenue models. We have heavy weight network of healthcare professionals in the bay area ready to use our prototypes, with major contacts and support from NIH, FDA, and other healthcare professionals. We have secured seed funding to cover team/company formation and product development costs (non-salary), and VCs are waiting to see our official launch to pour in series A.
Our methodology is based on user experience, customer development, prototyping, dynamic business models, and lean startup models. We believe there is a huge market for chronic disease management, and we plan to attack niche segments in an agile development mode.
We are looking for agile software engineers, including full stack web developers, UX designers, cloud-based and SaaS security specialists, and backend engineers:
Responsibilities:
* Be self-motivated, excited about changing the world, and overly communicating with the rest of our small team
* You would be responsible for completing our prototypes and put it into fully functional cloud-based mode through agile development
* Taking our lean model and customer development ideology to heart, and contribute in developing the product to the best user experience
* Help other executives in building up the engineering team on the fly from scratch
Desired Skills:
= Engineering degree (BS or MS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering specialized in web development***
= Full-stack web development and project experience using Ruby on Rails or other major languages (Javascript, .NET, R, PHP...)
= Self-motivated with extreme passion and desire to impact the world
= Ability and desire to build web portals from scratch
= Online and cloud security (moderate knowledge)
= Overcomminucative with the small team around you
and if you know the following, it's a big plus:
+ Database systems, Rails (RoR), MySQL, or any other database system
+ Machine Learning algorithms
+ App development knowledge and experience (iOS and/or Android)
