Job Description:
Provide support to the Safety & Compliance Assistance Program at Stanford University EH&S by performing routine radiological surveys in laboratory work areas. This includes the use of a survey meter and swipe samples for determination of surface contamination levels and documentation of survey results. As needed, pick up and delivery of radiation survey meters or other supplies to laboratory areas. Radiation Safety Training (EHS-5250; classroom) and training on how to perform radiological surveys will be provided.
Qualifications:
- Organized with good attention to detail
- Ability to maintain punctuality and good attendance
- Completion of safety courses required: General Safety & Emergency Preparedness (EHS-4200; online); Chemical Safety for Laboratories (EHS-1900; online); Compressed Gas Safety (EHS-2200; online); Biosafety (EHS-1500; online)
- Clean California driver’s license required
- Ability to pass an FBI background check required

Hourly Wage: Dependent upon experience and amount of relevant coursework
Hours/Week:
(For Stanford students) Up to 12 hours during academic year
(For any students during summer) Possible full time or part time; hourly, dependent upon operational needs and budget
Work Schedule:
- Must be able to work weekly except as approved by supervisor
- Work must be completed Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM
- No evening or weekend work available
