Hey,

My name is Hans and I'm a Teach for America alum and the founder of an education technology startup called Ed Infinitum. Our goal is to create a web-based learning platform that will make teachers' lives easier and help students to learn more effectively. We have two Stanford back-end developers , a Stanford MBA, and a former teacher, but we’re looking for a front-end developer to round out our founding team. We're prepared to offer a full founder's equity stake as well as compensation for living expenses over the summer.

Here's our elevator pitch:

Being a great teacher is harder than it has to be. Having been teachers, we can tell you that a teacher’s worst enemy is time. We spend so much time developing lesson plans, searching for activities, grading, and formatting Word documents that we often run out of time to track data, personalize instruction, and proactively involve parents. And yet, we know that it is precisely these latter, high value-added activities that drive student achievement and distinguish great teachers from good teachers. The goal of Ed Infinitum is to leverage technology to make teachers more efficient and more effective. Here are some more details about the product:

We provide a web-based platform that enables teachers to create a crowd-sourced curriculum aligned to national standards

The software allows students and teachers to design their own lessons, provides data analytics, and allows for personalization of learning

Parents, teachers, and administrators know where students stand at all times and how to help

Role description:
As a co-founder of Ed Infinitum, and as the lead front-end developer, you would be responsible for designing the look and feel of the user interface and for working with teachers to refine the user experience.
More specifically, we are looking for someone who has the front-end development skills and aesthetic sensibility required to design the user interface of a web-based platform for teachers and students that is both intuitive and visually attractive. Qualified candidates will have a strong grasp of HTML, CSS, and Javascript, as well as strong artistic skills.

We're looking to make a big dent in education, and we'd love to talk to you. Is there a time this week when we might we might be able to grab some coffee somewhere on campus?

Looking forward to meeting you.

Best,

The Ed Infinitum Team
