International Study to Predict Optimized Treatment in Depression

Compensated 52 Week Research Study at Stanford University

We are seeking people who are currently depressed to participate in a research study to predict responses to the treatment of depression. If you have been feeling the symptoms of depression (depressed mood, loss of interest in daily activities, poor concentration, lack or increase in appetite, low energy or disturbed sleep) or have been diagnosed with depression you may be eligible to participate in this study.

You must also fit into the following criteria:
• Men and Women ages 18-65 years old
• No seizure disorder or history of head trauma
• No impediment to vision, hearing and/or hand movement

This study requires three visits to the Depression Research Clinic and eight phone appointments over a 52 week period. You will have an assessment of psychiatric history, meet with a study physician and have an EEG (electroencephalograph, which is a reading of your brain waves) completed. You will be required to satisfy study criteria before being permitted to participate in the study. Select patients may also have an MRI (scan of your brain).
