Hey! I've recently moved out to the Bay Area from Boston, where I lived at an MIT co-op. I'm a 24-year old female, and I'm currently looking at houses between Mountain View and Stanford (preferably closer to MV), and ideally would live with similarly open-minded, relaxed, community-oriented people to live with. A bit about me:
* I currently work as a software engineer at Mozilla - we're the people who make ze Firefox
* I'm on the active side - I enjoy pick-up frisbee, casual biking, and I am getting back into rock climbing
* I enjoy cooking and hosting dinner/board games with friends (think Settlers, Dominion, Dixit, 7 Wonders, etc etc) - so a roommate who wants to cook together would be a definite plus! Not so much into the heavy partying thing.
* I'm fairly clean, but also fine with things like dishes in the sink after a hectic day!
* Not really the tv/cable type
* My boyfriend is at Stanford, and probably would be around frequently. Chill and super-nice. Makes food!
* No car - I mostly bike places or public transit.
Also, back in Boston, I really got hooked on pole fitness, so our furnishings will include a stripper pole - though probably not for stripping. It's pretty awesome, I promise!
What I'm looking for:
* 1-2 roommates (male or female), ~21-28 years old
* Open-minded, shared responsibility, social
* Non-smoking inside
* comfortable with others lounging around in underwear
* 1-year lease
Finally, I'm really not looking for someone to just split rent with me - I'm looking for a social household, so it's really important to me that I enjoy spending time with my roommates. So shared interests are a plus, either in activities or conversation!
And the characteristics of places that I've been looking at:
* Located between Palo Alto and Mountain View (biking distance)
* Backyard, with the possibility of gardening
* Cat-friendly
* Fairly sunny, and (ideally) high ceilings
* Reasonable rent (ideally no higher than $1100 pp, but possibly higher if the place is right)
