Stanford grad student in CS. Female. Fluent in English and Mandarin). Born in Taiwan, grew up in Seattle, went to MIT undergrad, and now living in CA for the first time.

I have changed diapers, played card games, read stories (in english and chinese), put kids to bed, comforted them when they are crying, tutored various forms of hw, played board games, etc. I have taken kids to fairs and played wiffle ball with them. I have eaten chicken nuggets with them, played Wii until my arms hurt, and gave them high-fives when they showed me a medal they got from school. I have even refereed a game of basketball with 12 boys running around and showed them that girls can play, too :) - as I'm a former varsity basketball player.

I love spending time with little kids and making a difference in their lives (and their families'). As such, I am not looking for monetary compensation. I think it would be far more interesting if after the initial meeting and we find that there is a fit we find an activity to do together. Maybe that means a dinner with your family. Maybe that means you let me pick your brain about your background and career. Or maybe that means you teach me a hobby of yours.
