My landlord is selling our place and I need to find a new home. Please help me find a place by inviting friends and sharing the event on your wall - it would be a huge help! Below is more about who I am and what I'm looking for. Many thanks!
I’m Ali, a 29 year-old, fun-loving person with a big heart, and consider myself a high-quality memory maker! I love living in SF, and strive to take advantage of all the unique events the Bay has to offer, from music festivals to street fairs to costume parties. I'm a long-time Burner with a pretty festive costume collection, and I stay involved with Burning Man culture in SF year-round. I love dancing, live music, yoga, volleyball, golf, hiking, camping, and travel. I enjoy life to the fullest and when I'm not playing, I'm passionately hard at work. I am a full-time graduate student getting my Ph.D. at Stanford in Sociology, where I study the socially constructed components of sex, gender, and sexuality. I'm an LGBT advocate (and identify as bisexual/queer) and my dissertation examines nonconforming gender discrimination in the workplace (you can find out more about the work I do at www.ackfogarty.com). I spend a lot of time thinking about how I can positively impact the world and nurture the beautiful range of human expression in myself and others. I have been involved in self-growth/transformational work for several years and I value deep, authentic connections as I invest much of myself in my relationships. I am open-minded, accepting, and non-judgmental.
THE ESSENTIALS:
June 1st - July 1st move-in
Cat friendly space/people. I have a loving, ten-year-old indoor-only cat who is super shy and super sweet, and we're a package deal. He will not do well with living with a dog or an aggressive cat.
Ability to work from home. I'm on track to finish my PhD next year, and will need a quiet space to work as I finish my dissertation.
Storage. I need a decently-sized closet, as well as storage space for a bit of camping equipment, my bike, golf clubs, costume bins, and some other occasional-use items.
A peaceful environment. My home is my sanctuary, and I'm at my best in an environment that is calm, respectfully tidy, and nourishing. (That said, I also like to socialize and want to be able to occasionally host a visiting friend and small events like a brunch or dinner.) I am a very open and authentic communicator, and I need a roommate who values communication as well.
CROSSING MY SWEET FINGERS FOR:
On-site laundry
Non-nightmarish parking
A work area separate from my bedroom
To stay in SF, specifically Lower or Upper Haight, Alamo Square/NOPA, Western Addition, Hayes Valley, Noe Valley, Bernal Heights, Potrero Hill, Inner Sunset, Inner Richmond (I am open to other neighborhoods too)
