I am looking for a room in n apartment or house to rent, starting in the month of June or July. I have been working at Stanford as a post-doctoral scholar for four months now (I do research on oceanography). I currently reside in Mountain View but I am looking for a better fit to my finances, distance to work and social life, for the rest of my 2-year contract (until Dec. 2014 that is).
I don't smoke at all, 30 y.o. male, have no pets, social while not a party animal. I don't mind any of those things though. During the week, I mostly like to chill out and stay in shape (I cycle to work ~ 15 miles/day, but I'd start running/swimming again if I was living closer to Stanford). Occasional happy hour or house dinner always welcome, although not needed. During the week-ends, I'd try to explore the area or hang out in the City or else, as I am fairly new to California.
The place would be less than $1200/month all included, ideally within 25 mns biking distance from Stanford's main quad, and I would have an option to park my car (street parking is fine). I have furniture but can get rid of it. I also have a projector, which would be a lovely addition to any home.
