Hi,
I am 20 year-old female junior at Stanford, studying Human Biology in Cross-Culture medicine.
You will be helping a reliable, independent, high achieving, low income Stanford student much in need, and investing in someone whose life goal is to further common good as a future doctor and community health advocate.
I am looking for free or affordable housing ($200-450/month) from now until the end November this year (Fall 2013) or mid-September of next year (fall 2014), depending on your capacity. I worked for Stanford during the school year and during the summer so I can financially support myself at that rent rate. I have a hard working, single mother who works for minimum wage at a canned food factory, and I am having trouble finding a place. However, I am expected to move out of my current location in exactly one week.
I have a few boxes of belongings, and otherwise take up very little space. I go to volunteer at the hospital 1-2 times a week, and can be home every night of the week. I have a modest car and a clean driving record. I have a sleeping bag and am open to a couch if you do not have an extra bed.
I'm very open and friendly, but also socially attuned and will be respectful of your space. I am an early riser (around 8am) and like to go to bed around 10-11 pm. I can be as present or absent as you like (since I can study at Stanford during the day). I like making smoothies, exercising, cooking, and talking about life, family, and ethics.
I have several referrals if you are interested in learning about how I am as a resident. Among others, I have house-sat for my professor Gabriella Safran (gsafran@stanford.edu) in Mountain View before so she can confirm.
I would like to meaningfully contribute to your life and am more than happy to help with some babysitting, eldercare, cleaning, etc. I aim for making connections and forming a friendships as those factors that are very important to me in sharing a space.
I understand that this is a strange request, and I am more than happy to email you more information, visit you or meet you in a public space first to talk about my circumstances. In the least, I will thank you for the opportunity to meet someone new and for a nice conversation.
With appreciation,
Yours truly
