DoorDash is a new delivery company that helps local businesses grow. We work with the best restaurants in Palo Alto and Mountain View and we're growing quickly, so we need you to join our team! We have a number of students who work part time with us during school. You set your own hours.
We're looking for great people who can work daytime (11am-1pm) or evening (5pm-8pm). If you can't commit to that amount of hours, or want to work even more, just let us know. We're flexible. This can either be part or full time depending on what you're looking for!
This is a fun, active job. We wear many hats, solve problems on the fly, and grow with the company. In fact, we've promoted drivers in the past to other positions within DoorDash. Plus, we take this job really seriously: every DoorDash team member - including the founders - started as drivers!
We love people who are friendly and outgoing, because that's how we delight our customers.
Details
- Since you meet customers when you bring them food, you're both a driver and a customer service associate. Our job is to delight customers.
- You interact with a dispatcher who lets you know where to go and sends you order information on your smartphone. You'll pickup orders from restaurants and bring them to customers. Being very familiar with your smartphone is key to this job.
- Drivers make $15-$18 per hour on average. Plus, you keep all of the tips.
- We are currently operating in Palo Alto and Mountain View and will be expanding soon.
- This is an independent contractor position.

- iPhone (no Android right now, sorry!)
- Driver's insurance & valid license
- Clean driving record
- Attentive to details and always on time

DoorDash was founded by 4 Stanford graduates who were frustrated at the lack of delivery options. We're building a local, on-demand FedEx, starting with restaurant food delivery. In restaurant delivery, we offer greater selection to consumers in areas like Palo Alto, where, until now, most restaurants didn't deliver. We hire drivers who use our own logistics software and take the headache of delivery away from the restaurant. This is a logistics company more than a food company. We help small businesses grow, we give underemployed people meaningful work, and we offer affordable convenience to consumers.
