We are seeking a bright, loving after-school caregiver. We need Tuesdays 3-7:30 for sure; we can be flexible about how many/which other days. School pick up means the sitter would need a safe, insured car and clean driving record. We're in Menlo Park near 101; the school is in Palo Alto.
$18-20/hr (+mileage)

We’d like to find a sitter/nanny who will engage with our girls (not just ferry them around), someone who will enjoy and appreciate them almost as much as we do.

About our girls:
Both girls are highly articulate, delighting in word-play and puns. They absolutely devour books. The favorite activity of the 5yo is “reading cuddles.” Both girls express their thoughts and emotions clearly (and occasionally loudly). Both love dance, drawing and dress-ups, plus monkey bars and cartwheels. They can be shy at first, but then they form deep affections.

The girls are often inseparable, immersing themselves in elaborate pretend play, art projects, and dance parties. The 7yo reads to the 5yo, tells her stories, and sings to her. The 5yo breaks the ice and tests the waters in social situations. The 7yo is thoughtful and a bit reserved, the 5yo is joyful and affectionate; they complement each other well. They can definitely push each others' buttons, but thankfully are developing good conflict resolution skills so that squabbles end in hugs.
