As Data Journalism shakes up the media world, we are looking for a graduate CS/EE student at Stanford University to join in developing a platform for journalists that will help them find powerful stories in public data sets. Experience building web applications (Python, Django), and with data mining and scraping are preferred.

The student needs to be matriculated at Stanford during the 2014-15 academic year, as this project is looking for funding from the Brown Institute for Media innovation. This project can complement fellowships or similar unrestricted funding, and can be part of research thesis. It will support travel, conference appearances and demos as well.
