I'm looking for anyone interested in learning about the theory and engaging in the practice of compassionate communication, following the work of Marshall Rosenberg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshall_Rosenberg). Proposed activities are a monthly meetup in a library or other discussion forum, to review and discuss materials and to engage in simple, yet powerful and practical exercises. The understanding and the practice can be a source of strength in difficult times and a source of greater joy in times of celebrations.
In the past few decades we have witnessed an explosion of digital media for communication. Perhaps we are losing some skills in face-to-face relating in ways that brings us closer to the wealth of human experience. I have personal experiences with the transformations that are possible with this approach to being in compassionate relationships, with yourself and others. My purpose in posting this is to foster an appreciation for it among anyone who is interested in transformation of difficulties into insight, understanding, compassion, peace and vitality. It's not just personal growth, it's a spiritual adventure. I'm volunteering to be an instigator and a point of reference - to facilitate practice and possibly to share books, audio and video materials (within the bounds of copyrights) - with the hope that this process will grow into a self-sustained community.
