A Stanford University study is seeking to test the “Whole Image Athletes (WIA),” an online interactive eating disorder prevention and body enhancement course designed specifically for college athletes. The goal of WIA is to enhance the student athlete’s body image by changing both individual and cultural norms and attitudes about body appearance expectations specific to college athletes. We are seeking Stanford student varsity athletes who are willing to complete 1 in-person assessment, 2 online assessments (1 optional, 1 required), and 8 weekly WIA modules the duration of the Fall 2014 academic quarter. Volunteers will be compensated $50 after the completion of the final assessment. If volunteers elect to complete the optional assessment, they will be compensated an additional $30 (or $80 total after the completion of the final assessment).
Volunteers must:
• Be a current Stanford undergraduate student and varsity athlete
• Be able to speak and read English
• NOT have current psychosis or severe depression with suicidal risk
