Stanford University is seeking adult volunteers for a research study about Emotion and Binge Eating.
Eligible participants will receive 6 weekly treatment sessions at no cost. Sessions will teach emotion coping skills, cognitive restructuring, and ways to reduce vulnerabilities. We will examine neural mechanisms using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to learn how emotions relate to binge eating. Volunteers will be compensated $100 for their participation.
Who Can Participate?
• Adults ages of 18-60
• Able to speak and read English
• No metal in body or mouth
• NOT have current psychosis or severe depression with suicidal risk
• Able to attend 4 1-2 hour assessment visits and 6 weekly treatment sessions at Stanford
