Seeking enthusiastic filmmakers for the Trust in Surveys Project
The Trust in Surveys Project explores why people trust or distrust the results of survey research. We're psychologists who want to improve the public's trust in well-conducted surveys.
To this end, we're investigating whether educating people about random sampling can help to improve trust in surveys. To educate people about random sampling, we are (in collaboration with the Stanford Robotics Lab) creating a video demonstration of how random sampling can be used to determine the proportion of colored ping pong balls in a large tank.
To help make this video as professional and compelling as possible, we're recruiting help from students interested in filmmaking at Stanford. You would be asked to assist with the production of the video here at Stanford and get the opportunity to create a video that not only will be used in research, but will hopefully have wider impact and be used in courses and demonstrations in the future.
To learn more about our vision and become involved in the project, please contact Lauren (Lchowe@stanford.edu).
