Hey there,

I'm looking for housing opportunities in the Bay Area, strong preference between Palo Alto and Sunnyvale (north of Mathilda). I currently have a small studio apartment on Alma @ Embarcadero in Palo Alto that I'd be willing to trade to someone looking to move out of a room in a shared house of equivalent value. The unit is 300-350sq feet, includes some basic furnishings (table, small sofa, bookshelf), kitchenette with stove/oven, in-house washer and dryer, bike hooks, driveway. The landlord is down-to-earth. 3 min walk to Trader Joe's, 6 min walk to Whole Foods, 12 min walk to Caltrain, 15 min walk to University Ave, ~10 min bike ride to the main quad in Stanford, ~10 min drive to the 101. Rent and utilities 1600/mo.

I'm moving out because I just started a job in Sunnyvale, prefer more space, and don't mind living with roommates. I will NOT relocate south of my job.

About me: I'm a 28 year-old male working in tech. I finished my PhD at Stanford in March. My friends would describe me as gregarious and easy-going. I've lived with roommates for nearly a decade and have learned to get along with all sorts of different people. I'm relatively clean but don't need a place to be spotless, I drink but don't smoke or do drugs, and have absolutely never missed a payment. I'm down to be friends with my roommates, but have lived with people who like to keep to themselves and that's ok too. I go surfing religiously on the weekends and can name every decent taco joint from Mountain View to Redwood City (people who know me have most likely identified me now).

My preferences for a prospective living arrangement:
- strong preference between Palo Alto and Sunnyvale @ Mathilda
- rent ~1500/mo, may go above that depending on the quality of the unit and location, of course
- similar age bracket (25-35)
- absolutely no shared rooms
- access to a kitchen and in-house laundry
- less than 6 roommates, preferably less than 4 roommates, including myself
- no unmarried couples
- slight preference for male roommates
- non-smoking
- no pets

Nice "extras" would be:
- Stanford people
- people who've lived at their units for 2+ years
- social drinkers
- other surfers

Next steps would be to meet in person and see if we're a good fit. If you're interested, please email me and we can set up a time to get a drink at Rose and Crown. Thanks!
