Summary:
We are a research lab in School of Medicine, Stanford University, mainly study pathology of lung disease. The research assistant (RA) will participate in the design, execution, analysis and evaluation of current ongoing research projects. His/her major job is to provide technical support while our lab will be committed to providing educational and professional experience in a collegial atmosphere. However, it is no guarantee of any co-authorship publication and minimum benefits. RA works throughout the academic year with limited 900 hours per calendar year. Compensation is based on experience.

Required abilities and dispositions:

High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation.
Ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines and making progress without direct supervision.
Strong spoken and written communications skills.
Capacity and will to learn new research methods under the mentorship of a postdoc and a lab manager;
Motivation to engage in and manage a wide range of intellectual and physical work, ranging from autoclaving surgical tools, LB, and tubes, antibody inventory input and data-collection designs.


Required skills:

At least two years research experience in
Molecular Biology: Western Blot, PCR/qPCR, mammalian cell transfection, molecular cloning.
Cell biology: Routine cell culture, freeze/thaw mammalian cells.
Animal handling: Ear punch, genotyping
