The Talk Lab is is seeking undergraduate students to transcribe conversations between friends and strangers that have been recorded in our lab. Transcribers are expected to work an average of 10 hours per week, but when and where transcribers work is flexible. Candidates must be meticulous, reasonably fast and accurate typists, native speakers of English, willing to learn how to use ELAN transcribing software, and have good organizational and communication skills.

This is a great job for anyone interested in human interaction, language, social identities or speech technology, and there are opportunities to become more involved with research in the lab over time.

If you're interested in the position, please send a brief email (3-5 sentences) to khilton@stanford.edu telling us about yourself, your interest in the lab and any prior experience. You may also optionally include a resume, but one is not required. Please let us know if you are eligible for Federal Work Study. All undergraduate applicants will be considered, regardless of FWS eligibility.
