A student who posted an SUPost Housing Needed ad recently was approached by a scam artist who was very sophisticated and fairly convincing. He pretended to have an apartment to sublet in a local existing apartment complex, sent photos and even made up a realistic rental agreement. he refused to Skype to show the apartment, and requested that the student wire him the security deposit and two month's rent in order to secure the apartment.

DO NOT wire money to pay for housing that you have not seen, or if there is anything suspicious.
