Hello, my name is Joanna Nurmis. I am a Doctoral Candidate in Journalism Studies at the Philip Merrill College (University of Maryland). I am conducting research on climate change news, and I hope you will participate.
Participation in this research includes taking a survey about one news story (here is the link: http://ter.ps/climatenews) which will take 10-15 minutes. If you agree to participate in a follow-up interview about your experience reading the story, that will take approximately 10 to 20 minutes. If you participate in both the survey and the interview, your total time commitment will be between 25 – 35 minutes.
As a reward for your participation, you will be entered into a sweepstakes to win one of ten $25 Amazon gift cards. You will also, and perhaps more importantly, have helped advance knowledge about effective communication on issues of grave importance to the public good.
