Stanford Masters Student – Available for Chemistry Tutoring
Hello, I am a Stanford masters student. I am available to tutor AP-level Chemistry and other advanced-level chemistry courses for high school students living in the Peninsula. I have experience in tutoring and also have a strong chemistry background. My background in chemistry, tutoring, and teaching are detailed below:
Education Background:
- Currently pursuing MS in Civil Engineering
- BS in Engineering, Stanford University – completed June 2016
- Minor in Chemistry (Courses covered: General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemistry Lab) – completed June 2016
- Have been studying Chemistry since the 10th grade and did my own advanced-level, high-school chemistry course outside of the US, where I got an A for my external examinations
Teaching Background:
- Presently a teaching assistant in the Chemistry department. I help to teach an upper-level organic chemistry lab course. My tasks include leading lab sessions, holding office hours, and marking problem sets and lab reports.
- I have tutored high school students since being in high school, through peer-to-peer tutoring. In college, I tutored Chemistry in countries outside of the United States, such as South Africa where I helped to develop a syllabus for an after-school learning program.
I am very good at breaking down difficult concepts and interpreting which concepts are most important for students to learn in order to most efficiently study and excel in Chemistry. I also have time to mark assignments that I could give myself to students if they need additional exercises and practice outside of school, instead of just tutoring.
For more information on prices and about me (e.g. a link to my LinkedIn profile), please contact me via SUPost or Craigslist, or call me at 650-289-8230 (text is better for initial contact, as I may not be able to pick up calls during the day before 5 pm)
