Hello Stanford community, I'm a recent Stanford grad, who is searching for an ideal roommate in the Bay Area. I'm looking for a 2 bed / 2 bath apartment, and someone to share it with, with a budget of $1300-$1800 per person, and at least 1 year lease. I'm mainly searching north of Sunnyvale, as far as South San Francisco, if the place is attractive enough. Ideally close to Stanford, since I work nearby.
Cleanliness, neatness, and organization are important factors for me. With a 2 bed / 2 bath setup, we can both have our privacy and keep our spaces as clean as we like.
In the kitchen, I would prefer to split cabinets, and each of us take care of our own utensils. I like keeping counter tops clean and having no dirty dishes in sight. Fridge organization is also important to me. No expired or rotting foods, or lids that drip onto the fridge shelves please. I'm generally a healthy eater. Even though we wouldn't be sharing foods, I would prefer opening a fridge up to fruits, veggies, healthy meats, rather than microwave dinners, leftover fast food, or processed foods.
In the living room, I would like to invest in making the place look nice, rather than putting up cheap plastic furniture. It doesn't have to be super expensive furniture, but I like coming home to a place that feels nice (think IKEA home). Ideally, you are the same. We can decide together how we want to arrange the living room. I'm a big fan of interior design and modern spaces. We can decide who buys what. I just don't want to spend all the time, money, and effort by myself into making a decent, comfortable, living space for the both of us.
Ideally, we'd get along, share some similar interests and hobbies, as its always nice to have something to talk about when we see each other. For example, learning to cook, doing yoga, going to the gym, running, hiking, listening or playing music, traveling, learning languages, or drinking wine or craft beers. I don't have pets, but I wouldn't mind a small dog or cat. Guy or girl doesn't matter. And if you have a significant other, he or she shouldn't be living with us. Ideally looking for someone who is also a recent Stanford grad and similar age, but that's not too important.
If it sounds like we'd be a good match, then let's get to know each other a little more in person, and then we can search for an apartment together.
