We are recruiting participants for a brain and language study on Stanford campus, including the period of Thanksgiving break.

- Are you a native speaker of American English?
- Do you have no hearing or speech impairments?
- Are you right handed?
- Are you between 18 and 40 years of age?
- Would you be willing to participate in an experiment at 6:30 in the morning?

If you answered "Yes" to all five questions, then we would like to invite you to participate in our study.

We study brain responses that underlie sentence comprehension, using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). You will be asked to read English sentences inside the scanner and respond to them by pressing buttons. Following the fMRI session, you will be asked to answer a short questionnaire.

The experiment will take place at the Stanford Center for Cognitive and Neurobiological Imaging located on the Stanford campus and will last approximately 2 hours. You will be offered $40 cash for your participation. If you wish, we will also be happy to offer you an image of your brain after the experiment is completed.

If you are interested in participating in the study or would like to request more information, you can either respond to this message directly, send an email to Olek Główka, research assistant, at aglowka@stanford.edu.

For general information about participant rights, contact the Stanford IRB at 1-866-680-2906.
