Make a Difference: ESM Prep is hiring bright, motivated, and personable Academic Mentors
ESM Prep is an educational services firm seeking qualified, energetic, and engaging Academic Mentors excited to work at the intersection of education and business. Mentors will assist students preparing for college by readying them for the SAT and ACT exams, tutoring multiple academic subjects but especially math and science, and mentoring students through the college search and application process. Beyond these services, however, we are seeking exceptional people to continue growing and improving our rapidly expanding educational services company in the SF Bay Area.
Our Philosophy and Requirements
We call our tutors Academic Mentors because we prioritize holistic development of each of our students. All applicants should be passionate about working with youth and should have previous experience tutoring, teaching, and/or coaching. We are looking for applicants comfortable teaching many (if not all) of the following subjects: SAT, ACT, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, history, physics, chemistry, biology, English, and Spanish. This position also requires a reliable car, internet access, and bachelor's degree.
Locations
While some of our sessions with students occur virtually via "Zoom" video conferencing, the majority of our sessions are held in-person in the student's home. We have students throughout the greater SF Bay Area, but this position is particularly open to mentors excited to work with families on the peninsula, from San Francisco to Palo Alto.
Compensation
Part-Time Academic Mentors work 10-30 hours per week and start at $70-80 per hour, depending on subject matter, location, and experience.
