About me:
I am a recent Stanford graduate who has been playing violin for 19 years. At Stanford I played chamber music under the guidance of the faculty in the music department. Before Stanford, I studied under Professor Alice Schoenfeld at the USC Thornton school of music for a total of 3 years. As a child I was raised on the Suzuki method.
My method:
I teach intermediate violin -- students should be at a basic level in terms of sight-reading, intonation, and sense of rhythm (although these are things that always have room for improvement!). I am happy to work with a student on a piece of music of their choice, and I am also happy to suggest something that would be a good challenge for them at their current level. Along the way, I also assign etudes/exercises to address techniques in violin playing that need improvement.
I prefer to remain within a 4 mile radius of Stanford University.
My rate is $70/hr.
