Stanford University is looking for boys aged 8-18 with a developmental or intellectual disability to take part in a research study investigating behavioral training methods to improve duration of eye contact and social skills. Participation includes a visit to Stanford for 3-4 days, cognitive testing, two optional MRI scans, and social skills training with a behaviorist.

INCLUSION CRITERIA:

- diagnosis of an intellectual and/or developmental disability
- boy aged 8-18
- impaired social skills


EXCLUSION CRITERIA:

- has a diagnosed genetic disorder other than Fragile X associated with an intellectual disability (e.g., Down Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome)
- has neurological or sensory impairments not associated with social skills (e.g., head trauma, blindness)

- has frequent and/or severe problem behaviors
