Decrypt ME, a news service that turns academic research around US foreign policy into news stories and short social videos, is offering immersive educational opportunities to researchers, students and academics who are interested in international relations and US foreign policy.
Decrypt ME helps students and researchers make their mark in digital media while learning in the process about their favorite topics and issues around international relations by devoting a few hours a day to track down news, interview sources over the phone and write compelling short stories. Video producers and graphic designers turn these into colorful short videos with background music (like movie trailers) and the marketing and engagement team will then work to generate public interest in our stories and production.
Our start project will focus on US-Mideast relations, given the fast pace of news there and US involvement. The second phase will focus on US-Latin relations and then US-Asian relations and finally Africa and Europe.
Decrypt ME is looking for motivated students and researchers to fill the following unpaid positions.
1-Students to maintain our website and social media feed and help with SEO, audience engagement and technical issues
2-News writers and editors. Students, researchers or academics who focus on international relations, US foreign policy in the Middle East are especially welcome. The writers and editors will need to balance news and feature content to create compelling stories; stories for the website and other eMedia platforms; interact with social media followers and users.
3-Video producers who can turn news into short videos that would be shareable online.
4-Graphics producers to turn stories into easily understood graphics.
5-Marketing and promotion coordinators
6-Fund-raising specialists to help get all those working hard get some compensation.
We need a commitment of 1-2 hours daily for at least three months.
