I'm Fernando Cespedes, Brazilian, 34 years old, PhD candidate at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo. I'm currently looking for housing nearby Stanford University/Palo Alto from January to June 2018 as I'll be joining a research group for both winter and spring terms. The focus of my research is to approach various musical performances (from ancient rituals to modern pop music) as forms of developing both identity and subjectivity. I've been to the West coast quite a few times as I've worked for Google/YouTube for 6 years but this will be the my first time as visiting student researcher. I'm very into music (I'm a bass player/percussionist having played jazz, funk and rock with local groups and many brazilian rhythms with blocos during the Carnaval parades) and sports (I'm a basketball player).
