We are seeking an outstanding (full-time) research associate to join our Infectious Disease team. The candidate will work on projects focused on studying virus-host interactions using genetic and biochemical assays. Successful candidates will be independent and creative researchers, capable of experimental design, execution, troubleshooting and data analysis.

Specific responsibilities will include:

*Culture, maintenance and transfection of mammalian cell lines and primary cells
*Handling of BSL-2 agents
*Expression measurements using qPCR, flow cytometry, immunoblots and/or microscopy
*Biochemical characterization of protein-protein interactions, protein-nucleic acid interactions and enzymatic activity

REQUIREMENTS

*BS with 2+ years of laboratory experience
*Experience in mammalian cell culture, cloning and protein assays
*Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to learn quickly and work independently in a team environment
*Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to present scientific data in group settings

Additional experience in any of the following areas is beneficial:

*Protein expression, purification, and biophysical characterization
*Confocal microscopy and/or flow cytometry
*CRISPR-based genome editing
*NGS library preparation, sequencing, and analysis
*Basic command line proficiency (e.g., working knowledge of Linux, Python)
