This is an exciting opportunity for your middle school child to learn Chinese language and culture this summer. This Chinese program will be held at Columbia Middle School in conjunction with its Summer School Exploration program and will start on July 2nd and end on July 27th.
The program meets from 8:15 AM to 12:30 PM and your child will be learning the Chinese language and culture while exploring a STEM based curriculum where the students learn about the solar system and learn Chinese vocabulary and other language functions that enable students to talk about the solar system in Chinese.
The program is taught by exceptional Chinese language educators and offers two field trips. One of the field trips will have the students visit the NASA Ames Research Center and the other field trip takes the students to visit San Francisco’s China Town where they will have a guided tour of the historical monuments and experience a traditional Chinese meal in a restaurant.
The program is grant-funded, sponsored by Stanford University, and is totally free of charge to the participants, including the field trips and daily snacks.
