The O'Brien Lab in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology is seeking a part-time lab assistant. We use fruit flies to peer into the secret lives of stem cells, and we need someone to help care for our flies and do other routine lab tasks. The position is a minimum of 4 h/week, with potential to grow to 8h/week. The precise hours are flexible; once initial training is done, lab duties can be performed on evenings and/or weekends. $20/hour. One-year commitment expected.
You don't need to have: Prior lab experience (we can train you).
You do need to be: Dedicated, reliable, and responsible, with the ability to focus on a repetitive task for 1-2 hours at a stretch and to repeat it with high accuracy.
