Android app developer needed right now for short project

- Status: Part-time or full-time until completion. Current or continuing Stanford student strongly preferred.
- Pay: $35-$50/hour, depending on experience
- Project description: The Stanford Screenomics Lab is building a framework to study moment-by-moment changes in how people use digital media. To date, we have collected over 25 million screenshots taken every five seconds from personal digital devices. The data are being used to study what constant connectivity to the Internet might do to our minds, our health, our social life, and our politics.
- Job description: Developer will be given beta-stage app source code and asked to repair/streamline features according to specific needs. The app’s entire functionality is 1) to take phone screenshots at five seconds and also immediately whenever the phone screen is turned on, 2) store those images, and 3) upload them to an already-defined firebase/gcloud channel while connected to WiFi (then delete images). The app is fully functional on some devices, but faces issues with authentication, permissions, uploading success, and image metadata storage in many cases.
