Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD), part of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (VPTL), is hiring a Course Assistant to support professional, remote participants from the Stanford Foundations for Data Science Program (https://scpd.stanford.edu/public/category/courseCategoryCertificateProfile.do?method=load&certificateId=82838367) .

This is a fixed-term (6-month), part-time position with the option of contract renewal. The hourly rate for this position is $25/hr and averages a commitment of 5 hours/week, with a possible range of 3-10 hours/week. In-person and remote training will be provided on the job. We are looking for candidates who specialize in Statistics, Informatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other information engineering disciplines at the graduate level and above (M.S. or Ph.D.).

Requirements:
- MS or PhD (current students included) in Statistics, Informatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other information engineering disciplines.
- Minimum 6-month commitment; Longer-term (1 year and above) commitment preferred
- Familiarity with Coursera and other online education platforms preferred.
- A plus if you have experience with teaching and tutoring, customer service, and/or community management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and independent
