Job Description: This is a great gap-year(s) position for pre-meds interested in gaining clinical and/or translational research experience prior to applying to medical school. As a member of the Nayak Lab as well the clinical research program in the division of rhinology, you will be involved in a number of ongoing research studies ranging from nasal stem cell biology and immunology in murine models, to clinical studies aimed to develop better treatments for various sinonasal diseases. This position will include ample shadowing experience both in the clinic and OR, an opportunity for co-authorship on publications, and collaborations with medical students, residents, fellows, etc. within the department.
Additional details:
-Two-year commitment preferred
-Start date is available now. For graduating Stanford seniors, we would ideally like someone who could dedicate a few hours a week throughout the remaining school year to be fully trained by graduation.
-Prior research experience helpful but not required
-Flexible hours/schedule
-Great educational experience to better understand translational and clinical research and gain exposure to the medical field
