The Center for Design Research at Stanford is conducting research on the design of driver support systems and how drivers will use them in various conditions. This research will be conducted in our full-vehicle driving simulator, and studies will take approximately one hour, including a survey component and simulated driving activity in the full-vehicle VR driving simulator.

You must possess a valid driver’s license and have experience driving on the right side of the road to participate. Only participants who have not participated in similar studies are eligible to participate in this study. If you are prone to motion sickness or simulator sickness; or have experienced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), it may be inadvisable to participate in this study as there is the possibility of a crash in the simulated environment.

This study may use physiological sensors to measure your heart rate and sweat rate. The heart rate sensor clips on your ear, so you will have to remove an earring if you wear one in your left earlobe, and the skin conductivity sensors stick to the underside of your left wrist.

Participants will be entitled to a $25 Amazon gift card, or course experiment credit.
