Classical, Rock, Modern, etc.
My name is Dr. Nick Virzi. I’m a professional musician, composer, and teacher offering individual lessons, and a Stanford alumnus! Here are some reasons why I might be your best choice for learning to play, write, and learn more about music:
I have taught music theory, ear training, and computer music at the Stanford University Department of Music and have taught guitar and composition privately for over 10 years. I am currently an Instructor for the Stanford Summer Arts Institute and International Institutes where I teach over 200 students from 15 countries throughout North America, Central America, South America, Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.
I earned a Bachelor’s of Music from the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music in New York and a Doctorate in Music Composition from Stanford University.
• I teach music the way music should be taught – fun, interesting, patient, and without intimidation.
• I teach what YOU want to learn! I will learn new music or skills specifically for you if that is what you wish to study.
• In your very first lesson, you will start learning to make music instead of only focusing on abstract techniques.
My students range in age from young children to middle school, high school, and college students, working professionals, and retirees.
Learn to play in state-of-the-art music studios at Stanford University at such picturesque locations as The Knoll, home to the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), or from the comfort of your own home, office, or my studio in Woodside.
