Dr. Pablo Paredes of the Pervasive Wellbeing Technology Lab (http://med.stanford.edu/pervasivewellbeingtech.html) is looking to hire several
research assistants/associates, preferably on a full-time basis for the next 6-9 months, to help us
develop technology interventions aimed at reducing stress and improving wellbeing during
everyday life. The research assistant would also help us conduct user studies and other
evaluations Some of our active research projects include improving stress sensing
techniques and evaluating the efficacy of interventions that can be used while commuting,
browsing the web, and/or chatting on mobile devices.
We are looking for motivated individuals with technical skills (e.g., programming, signal
processing, hardware development, machine learning) interested in gaining
human-subjects research experience by helping to design and conduct experiments.
Responsibilities will include: (i) meeting with research mentors to define tasks and refine
study protocols, (ii) contributing to the technical development of our intervention
technologies, (iii) scheduling and moderating study sessions, (iv) archiving collected data,
and (v) helping with a preliminary analysis toward submitting scholarly articles to medical and
technology design venues. While we are open to working with candidates from diverse
backgrounds, those with human-subjects research experience and technical backgrounds
will be given priority.
Research assistants can work on a flexible schedule and will be compensated accordingly
