Hi all,

I'm a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering, selling my 740iL after owning for 3 years.

It has relatively low mileage, clean carfax, original paint all around. It has a lot of equipments all of which work properly. Some of those I can think of are: heated power&memory seats, rain sensor, cruise control, ski compartment, A/C blows pretty cold, rear shades (they tend to break in e38's, I fixed them), moonroof. Just the front cup holder is still broken which is again typical for e38, rear cupholders are fine. I have done quite some long trips with this car (Tahoe, Yosemite, Los Angeles etc.). It has always been reliable, super comfortable and very fast.

I am pretty hands-on, so I have worked on this car quite a lot. You can see the maintenance items from the logs I am keeping(see it here: https://stanford.box.com/s/62ncvswg94qr6zwmws1z6m8mufotvxkw). According to my records, I have invested around $4000 only on parts, so that huge amount of money should save you some headache in the long run. I don't have detailed records from previous owners, except from what's on carfax.

I'm pretty sure this e38 is one of the best in the second hand market. My price is reasonable for any well-maintained car so not much room for negotiation. I am selling because I'm not having long trips with 3+ friends, as much as I expected.

Let me know if you have questions.
Thanks!
