The AR and AP clerk is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping functions within the company, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and journal entries. This job will work extensively in QuickBooks, our current accounting software, and work closely with our accounting and finance team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform daily bookkeeping and accounting functions for the company, including:
- Accounts Receivable: manage invoices to customers and incoming payments from customers
- Prepare and send invoices to customers
- Works with customers to collect payments and reconcile delinquent accounts
- Process accounts receivable and post payments to customer accounts
- Apply for customer payments in accordance with company policy and express client instructions where appropriate
- Prepare bank deposits; reconcile receipts and deposits
Accounts Payable:
Manage and pay outgoing bills and invoices on behalf of the company
- Code and enter vendor expense invoices
- Prepare check runs based on company policy
- Answer routine vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor accounts as required
- Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes on behalf of the company
General Ledger
- Post routine, recurring journal entries to the general ledger
- Ensure accurate GL postings
- Prepare assigned account reconciliations and adjust balances as appropriate, subject to review of the Operations Controller or designee
Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience required
- Personal integrity when working with personal and sensitive financial information
- Advanced accounting and bookkeeping software experience, with specific QuickBooks experience
- Aptitude for business
- Detail-oriented
- Must be comfortable meeting tight deadlines
Physical Requirements:
- The position is generally sedentary in nature but ability to readily move about the facility and support areas without limitations is required
Work Environment
This position will be located in Lake Oswego, OR at the Hemptown and Kirkman (a subsidiary) corporate offices. The individual is exposed to the following work conditions while performing the essential functions of this job:

Regular and dependable attendance during normal operating hours
