What we're up to
Kalshi is developing the first regulated financial exchange that allows people to trade on the anticipated outcome of events, from "Will Brexit happen this year?" to "Will a Covid vaccine be discovered this fall?". We are developing a new asset class, event contracts, and are the first CFTC regulated exchange that allows trading on a broad category of events. Our vision is to allow people to capitalize on their opinions and hedge risks that relate to their every day lives.
We're on a long journey in uncharted territories and are looking for passionate and outlier members excited to embark on this voyage towards building the future of the financial system.
Role Roadmap
As a Core Exchange engineer, you'll be part of the SWAT team in charge of building the exchange and its core, most essential functionalities. You'll be responsible for a building state of the art order matching and trade execution systems (think building a novel version of the New York Stock Exchange). Joining Kalshi means you’ll be exposed to all parts of the business, help scale and lead the team, and define our culture and product paths. We're scaling, which means your role will evolved and grow with the company; your initial attack threads include:
• developing efficient algorithms for order matching and trade execution
• balancing various requirements on correctness, robustness, availability, and resilience
• managing and maintaining integration with our clearinghouse
• managing and developing our microservices based architecture and communication between the different services
• working closely with the product team for product development and improvements
• working on integration with different market participants, including market makers, hedge funds, and brokers
Rest of what the role looks like is up to you - a big part of our approach is that you get to chart your path as we grow and evolve. There's a lot of green field to conquer, we trust that you'll make a lot of it your own :)
