You have an innate drive to learn, create, and experiment, and you like wearing many hats, from backend pipeline development to RnD. You can explain complex ideas verbally and through text, and you're comfortable leading open source initiatives with outside vendors and companies (some projects where we were major contributors include Arnold-USD, Maya-USD, rez, MtoA, FumeFx for Maya/Arnold, USD for Atoms Crowd).
You Can:
● Develop tools, procedures, and interfaces to optimize the Luma pipeline
● Identify inefficiencies in-studio processes, and design pragmatic solutions
● Provide consistent technical support to various departments
● Communicate technical issues to the Production team in a clear manner
● Work well in a team, with strong communication skills and attention to detail
You Have:
● 6+ years experience working as a Developer in VFX or Animation
● Proven experience writing pipeline tools and designing workflows
● Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
● Experience with Linux
● Master knowledge of python
● Competency with C/C++
● Understanding of git, unit-testing, and CI
● Advanced knowledge of at least two of the following: Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Katana, shader writing/rendering
● Expert problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
● Ability to self-manage, prioritize and work to deadlines
● Approachable, proactive, and accommodating attitude
● Innate desire to stay informed of current technologies
Pluses:
● Experience with Unreal
● Experience developing pipelines with USD
