Sleep loss can negatively impact the brain networks that regulate emotion. Research suggests that insomnia contributes to depressive mood symptoms. The CoPsyN Sleep lab at Stanford University (lab website: http://med.stanford.edu/copsynsleeplab.html) is conducting a study to investigate the degree to which the emotional regulation brain network is modified by improving sleep in individuals with or at risk for developing Alzheimer’s Disease (AD).

Individuals who are between 50 and 90 years old, experiencing depressive symptoms, memory impairments and trouble sleeping may be eligible for this study. Eligible participants will receive a sleep evaluation, individual treatment for insomnia, and reimbursement for participation. This study will require visits to Stanford University.
