About this role.
People operations is a nascent role at Xola. You'll be responsible for helping us engage, recruit, and build the industry’s most talented team. As part of expanding this functional area we are seeking an experienced professional who can not only administrate people ops processes easily but someone who also has the entrepreneurial chops to help us grow and scale as a company.
Additionally, we are looking for the right person who not only has the experience and tenacity to take on a fledgling people ops function at a growing startup, but one who also personally upholds our cultural values so that they can better cultivate and steward those values throughout the company.
People operations at Xola will have three main areas of focus.
Recruiting and Onboarding
• Owns the recruitment and interview process. Schedules meetings and interviews across teams.
• Own the onboarding and offboarding operational processes.
• Administrate onboarded employee workflows; including but not limited to transfers, promotions, onboarding, terminations
People Programs & Initiatives
• Administrate Continuous Performance Management (CPM) initiative in Leapsome. Ensure that managers are conducting CPM as defined by an internal framework document.
• Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Champion DEIB across the organization; build a diverse team, foster an inclusive culture through recruiting, training, policies
• Administrate ongoing programs for all employees to better enable our organization and provide ongoing career development
• Lead change management on new people team programs, policy, and system implementations
People Analytics
• Work with managers and leadership to interpret data from CPM 360 reviews to develop interventions to improve metrics.
• Drive implementation and adoption of key people analytics to help drive thoughtful, data-driven people decisions.
• Implement team surveys and other analytics tools to understand the employee experience and guide people program development and implementation
Core responsibilities for this role.
• Has strong intuition for people, is empathic and caring, and knows how to help people reach their full potential.
• Facilitate both pre- and first-day onboarding efforts for new teammates, ensuring an exceptional experience in order to set the teammate up for success starting day one.
• Effectively partners with the Leadership team on all people operations needs.
• Apply the best HR practices while engaging key stakeholders and partners to provide the best employee experience.
• Process new hires, promotions, terminations, and other job changes.
Qualifications for this role.
• 10+ years of People experience (we prefer experience in a high-growth or very dynamic organization, and one that’s highly highly focused on talent and culture)
•Track record of success leading company-changing people-related initiatives
• Comfort with high ambiguity and ability to adapt to frequent change
• Broad familiarity with HR best practices, as well as legal, compliance and cultural issues likely to be encountered.
• Strong business acumen and problem solving skills
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to comfortably handle difficult conversations
• High degree of comfort working in a team with, and influencing others
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
It’s Preferred If You Have
• MBA degree or relevant masters degree
• Experience establishing HR processes and infrastructure in a high-growth organization, leveraging broad HR domain expertise.
• Proven ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
•Demonstrated analytical and structured problem solving capabilities.
• Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to take complex, ambiguous topics and turn them into stories that spark and influence an audience of senior leaders.
