We are Lasso Loop Recycling. We are creating an appliance for the home that ensures all material inserted can be recycled - currently the recycling rate is 20%, we want to make it 100%. We are on a mission to change recycling for good and need your help!
We are a high-growth early stage pre-revenue startup that has raised $2.3m in funding to develop our prototype which is close to completion. Early next year, we will launch our third round of funding - including pre-sales, a formal funding round and a possible equity or product crowdfunding campaign across the US, UK and additional territories. As you can tell, the next 12 months are exciting and vital to success, so the team is expanding.

Responsibilities:
• Define and spearhead everything Lasso Finance, Finance Operations and Fundraising, building strategy for rapid growth hacking style development. With the key deliverables being raised capital and successful budgeting. In addition to possible crowdfunding success (equity and/or product) if applicable at a later date. You are ultimately accountable for the Finance/ Fundraising function.
• Plan, Budget, Approve and ultimately control all of Lasso’s financial assets.
• Lead fundraising rounds (sourcing funding opportunities, negotiating and executing)- including our upcoming Seed round (of which, the next one is planned to be $4m-8m).
• Subject to decisions, lead the strategic decision making and subsequent launch of crowdfunding across the EU, UK and US.
• Ensure Compliance through all financial based activities with associated laws(including Payroll). If needed, working directly with Lasso’s lawyers.
• Work alongside key stakeholders, including CEO, CTO, Board of Directors, Accountants, Lawyers, Launch and Marketing Manager.
• Help prepare pitch decks.
• Oversee financial projections from an existing financial model.
• To think creatively and outside of the box when managing fundraising. Ensuring Lasso has considerable runway and continues to be funded until becoming financially sustainable. The key word here is creativity.
• Effectively interpret and present data to external and internal stakeholders, being able to judge performance and success through these key statistics.
• Monitor company wide financial performance, metrics and cost metrics. Including the building and roll-out of Lasso’s manufacturing plant and subsequent operations.
• Owning negotiations for major company outgoings.
• Operate with efficiency and transparency using an idea meritocracy approach.
• Overall, being fully committed to Lasso using a "hands on approach". If something needs doing, let’s do it.
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Finance and/or Fundraising, ideally within successful high growth startups at a senior or executive level. Having gone through successful early stage funding rounds is desirable but not essential.
• Track record of developing and leading highly successful projects with direct deliverables and objectives.
• Finance, Fundraising and Launch experience directly in crowdfunding is highly desirable but not essential.
• Ability to synthesise and analyse data is desirable.
• Experience overseeing funding of manufacturing plants is desirable.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial and creative with the ability to think outside of the box using a growth mindset (we operate using an idea meritocracy so this is important!).
• Fluent in English and able to work from San Mateo, CA.
• Intrinsic motivation to work on our ambitious and meaningful mission.
Above all else, there is a lot of work to do. Commitment to Lasso is essential. Please expect long hours and weekends working where necessary. Occasionally meetings occur at obscure times (our team spans across 3 time zones!).
