About the job
Workera, backed by Owl Ventures (the world’s largest ed-tech VC) and Andrew Ng’s AI Fund, is a precision upskilling company that helps Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies unlock their full potential in data science, machine learning, and other AI technologies. Our management team includes seasoned startup executives and award-winning Stanford academics. Andrew Ng (co-founder of Coursera) is our chairman.
Our mission is to help humanity achieve its fullest potential.
We’re looking for a VP/Director of Product to develop our enterprise-grade precision upskilling platform and integrate it within the ed-tech ecosystem. Since you’ll be joining a growing startup, you’ll wear multiple hats and have lots of growth opportunities. We believe that talented product managers can adapt to any context, so feel free to apply even if you don't meet all the requirements.
What you will do:
• Translate company strategy into product strategy and roadmap. You will set our product vision, goals, success metrics, and roadmap for our enterprise product to align with the company strategy.
• Build and design an enterprise-grade product. You will develop and design an enterprise-grade product that is secure and compliant and can easily integrate within the ed-tech ecosystem (content providers, LMSs, LXPs, HRIS, etc.).
• Design data architecture and information flow for our product. You will be architecting the information flow between our product and adjacent products from the ed-tech ecosystem. You will be choosing the external tools and providers that we should be working with to accelerate our product roadmap.
• Hands-on product execution and leadership. You will set the quality bar for our work across product, design, and engineering. You’ll drive new feature development from start to finish. You’ll manage the product organization and develop a culture of ownership, teamwork, and empathy that reinforces the core values of Workera.
• Collaboration. You will work closely with the CEO to ensure a roadmap that reflects the learnings of customer-facing teams, and be thoughtful about the future of the product in a way that keeps Workera paradigm-shifting and competitive. You will also work closely with customer-facing teams to ensure alignment and understanding of what are the most pressing problems facing our customers, propose the right solutions and align the team on that approach.
What you should bring:
• Excellent product acumen. Strong analytical, diagnostic, critical thinking and project management skills.
• Experience shipping enterprise SaaS products, ideally serving large customers with demanding data, security, and administrative requirements.
• Experience with the enterprise, analytics, talent, or learning technologies space.
• CS background or equivalent software engineering experience, allowing you to make technical decisions, understand how data flows from one system to another, understand APIs and integrations, and work effectively with our engineering organization.
• Ability to think strategically, and define short-, mid-, and long-term goals.
• Ability to manage, mentor, and grow existing product and design, team members.
• Communication. You should be able to communicate product plans, benefits, and results to all audiences - within teams, companies, users, etc.
• Highly entrepreneurial and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance - be an owner.
We hope you will fit well with our team’s culture:
• Strong work ethic. All of us believe in our work’s ability to change human lives, and consequently, work not just smart, but also hard.
• Growth mindset. We are eager to teach you new skills and invest in your continual development. But learning is hard work, so this is something we hope you’ll want to do.
• Good team member. We care and watch out for each other. We’re humble individually and go after big goals together.
• Flexibility. You should be flexible in your tasks and do whatever is needed, ranging from tasks like member support to high-level architectural decisions.
This full-time position is remote. Our offices are in Palo Alto (USA) and Medellin (Colombia). We welcome applicants from all over the world.
