Who we are
We're building a Catholic meditation app. Think Calm or Headspace, but for prayer. We believe that people are searching for peace & spiritual growth, and that there is no surer way to find it than by learning to sit in silence with God: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28). Our goal is to build something that combines the beauty of the Church’s spirituality with truly world-class tech & design.
We launched the app in the Apple and Google Play stores in December of 2018 and so far we’ve been humbled with incredible growth & traction. We just passed 1M+ downloads & over 30,000 5-star reviews. We're blessed to be backed by some of the best VC investors in the world and are excited to build out the team to help a lot more folks grow closer to God.
Tldr: We're growing rapidly and are looking to build out our leadership team with world-class folks, first and foremost someone to lead our Content team from creation to audio to release. You will be responsible for all of the content on the app - the most important thing we do to help folks grow deeper in their relationship with God.
What you'll do
Leadership: The Content Team is growing quickly. You'll be in charge of hiring new folks to the team, onboarding them, and ensuring that everyone is working effectively together and that Hallow is the best job they've ever had or could ever have.
Process: You'll be in charge of ensuring that all of the trains run on schedule, that we have a roadmap that we're executing against, and that everyone is aligned on the work they're doing.
Quality: You will work with the Audio and Content team to ensure that each script and audio file is of the highest quality and is fully in-line with Catholic teaching.
Strategy: You'll work very closely with the Content Director and the founding & leadership team to set content strategy and will work cross functionally with Growth & Product to help us build something that, through the grace of God, might just changes lives.

Ownership: As a Head of Content, you’ll have the unique and humbling opportunity to lead the most central team we have at Hallow. Everything we do here is about trying to help folks discover and experience content that helps them grow closer to God.
Growth: From day 1 you’ll be a part of the startup journey from the beginning. Over the next couple of years we’ll build out the company & content significantly and we'll need your help to help scale the team.
Flexibility: HQ will be in Chicago with the full team and would love to have everyone there. That being said we’re super flexible with location / hours; don’t care when you work just that it gets done.
Comp: We will pay competitive market rates both in terms of equity, cash, & benefits.
What we’re looking for
Passion: First & foremost, we’re looking for someone excited about the mission. It makes it a lot more fun :)
Experience: Must have experience in creating and running teams & processes, ideally in a content-creation and / or startup environment. At least 5 years experience with managing across teams and growing a team is ideal. Highly detail-oriented and motivated to create the best culture and most efficient team possible. Business or consulting experience & Masters or undergraduate studies in Theology are pluses. Must be willing to hit the ground running!
Grit & detail-oriented: We really care about what we’re doing & try to build as fast as we can. Must be willing to go the extra mile to make the content as great as possible, so as to give people the best experience.
