Technical Service Chemist/Chem Eng./Materials Scientist
Duties include:
• Preparation of physical test reports
• Technical support to characterize rheological, thermal, mechanical properties of adhesive and coating resins
• Manage projects effectively and efficiently
• Provide full reports in relation to project updates, results and recommendations
• Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and checks
• Potential national and international travel to support projects
• Supports QC, service and sales to new, existing and internal customers
This is an interesting and technically challenging position based in Redwood City that requires a strong mix of skills and background experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in a scientific or engineering discipline or equivalent
• Experience undertaking technical projects and research based on thermoset polymer-based construction chemicals
• Ability to provide analyses, interpret and operate testing equipment using ASTM standard methods
• Familiarity and expertise using MS office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) required
Our company makes epoxy and polyurea based adhesives, coatings, grouts and control joint fillers applied by specialty contractors for structural concrete bonding, patching, protection and restoration. We offer solutions for difficult environments including chemical, temperature, underwater and abrasive.
A new product, InsulPOX™, is used in LNG terminals.
We make Epoxy Asphalt (EA), an extremely durable pavement for long span steel deck bridges. EA is now being tested for use to extend the life of open graded pavement on high-speed motorways and for use with high RAP mixes in new pavement applications (reclaimed asphalt pavement).
