The Bio81 Foundations Introductory Ecology Course is looking for an enthusiastic student who has taken this course before to provide our Teaching Assistants with additional course support. Primary duties will include:
1) Grading of weekly pre-section, post-section and concept check assignments. This will require strong knowledge of the introductory ecology material. Grading Rubrics will be provided.
2).Assisting our TAs during certain weeks of discussion sections. Your role will be to help students directly in person during sections as they try to perform tasks using the statistical programming language R. This will require you to be familiar with R so you can assist students with R-based assignments in sections. Sections take place on Thursdays and Fridays at various times.
We are looking for students who can dedicate 8 hrs/week. We are also happy to consider you for more than 8 hours per week as long as you are eligible to work additional hours.
Anticipated start & end dates: Mon October 11th and ends Fri December 10th.
If you apply, you are committing to being available for at least 8 hrs during each of these weeks.
If you are interested, please contact Waheeda Khalfan (wkhalfan@stanford.edu). Please share your resume and undergraduate and graduate transcript (unofficial is fine).
