Lab Manager: Nicole Rush, Department of Biology
Job Description: The Undergraduate Biology Lab Teaching staff prepares materials for the Biology 45, 46 and 115 courses during the Fall and Winter quarters. The lab is currently seeking one undergraduate research assistant for the 2022 Winter quarter.
The duties will consist of:
· Making individual samples of reagents from a larger stock
· Assisting the Lab Manager and Lab Technician with maintaining and expanding cultures
· Assisting with the set-up and clean-up of student labs
· Students can expect opportunities for professional development from this research experience.
This is a great opportunity for students without prior laboratory experience.
All research will take place on Stanford Main Campus in the Sapp Center for Teaching and Learning.
Qualifications: No prior experience working in a laboratory is necessary; all training will be included in the position. A positive attitude, enthusiasm to learn, and attention to detail are the most important qualities in potential applicants. Training and supervision of the undergraduate research assistant will be provided primarily by the lab technician who has many years of experience and the Lab Manager.
Requirements: Applicants should be available to start on Monday January 3rd, 2022. The student should expect to work 6 hours per week during the quarter. Students must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
Support: Eligible students will receive financial support via Federal Work Study.
